Pipo Derani, Romain Dumas and Olivier Pla have been included in Scuderia Cameron Glickenhaus’ Hypercar driver lineup for the 2021 FIA World Endurance Championship.

The American constructor announced its full squad of drivers on Friday ahead of its series debut with a pair of non-hybrid SCG 007 Le Mans Hypercar machines.

Richard Westbrook, Frank Mailleux and the previously confirmed Gustavo Menezes and Ryan Briscoe complete the roster.

The exact driver lineup combinations have yet to be confirmed, while seven drivers have been named despite there being six full-time seats available.

SCG’s squad collects a wealth of IMSA WeatherTech SportsCar Championship experience, including overall winners of the major endurance races at Daytona, Sebring and Michelin Raceway Road Atlanta.

Triple Mobil 1 Twelve Hours of Sebring winner Derani is coming back to the WEC’s top prototype class after a cameo with LMP1 squad Rebellion Racing last season, while his most recent full-time role in the series came with Extreme Speed Motorsports in 2016.

The Brazilian’s fellow IMSA DPi competitor Pla and Porsche factory driver Dumas are also returning to the global championship.

Pla was a member of the Ford GT program across its three world championship seasons and also twice finished runner-up in the LMP2 drivers’ standings.

Dumas, meanwhile, drove for Porsche in LMP1 and claimed his second outright 24 Hours of Le Mans victory with the German marque in 2016 en route to clinching the world title.

Westbrook is set for his first WEC season, although the Brit had a taste of the series last year when he joined Aston Martin Racing at Le Mans and the 8 Hours of Bahrain finale.

Menezes arrives off the back of finishing third in the 2019-20 drivers’ championship with Rebellion, while last year’s IMSA DPi runner-up and reigning Rolex 24 at Daytona winner Briscoe is embarking on his maiden WEC campaign.

Mailleux, meanwhile, has been a key member of SCG’s team at the Nürburgring 24 and other Nordschleife endurance races for several years.

Mailleux and Westbrook formed part of the Glickenhaus squad that finished 14th in last year’s N24 on the first-ever race outing of the new SCG 004C GT sports car.

While the lineup is set for the season, a September date clash between the IMSA race at Long Beach and the WEC 6 Hours of Fuji is set to affect Derani and Pla who hold full-time DPi positions with Action Express Racing and Meyer Shank Racing.

“I’ve dreamed of racing Le Mans since I was 11 years old,” said SCG founder and owner Jim Glickenhaus.

“We are proud of each driver who has joined our team. We are an international David versus Goliath, and our history shows we punch well above our weight class.

“We are racing to win and we are enjoying the journey.”

SCG is currently aiming to be on the grid for the season-opening WEC round at Portimao on Apr. 4 and has scheduled a test with both of its cars at Vallelunga in mid-March.

WEC CEO Frederic Lequien commented: “It is very encouraging to see Glickenhaus Racing making steady progress with its new Hypercar.

“The team’s driver line-up is impressive and their combined endurance racing experience will bring a great wealth of knowledge to the operation.

“We look forward to welcoming Glickenhaus Racing to the grid in 2021.”
