IMSA WeatherTech SportsCar Championship debutant Kevin Magnussen was fastest in Session 4 at the Roar Before the 24.

The ex-Formula 1 driver set the top time of 1:35.412 early in the running in the No. 01 Chip Ganassi Racing Cadillac DPi-V.R, knocking the No. 31 Action Express Racing Cadillac of Mike Conway down to second where he would finish.

Kamui Kobayashi in the No. 48 for AXR made it a sweep of the top three spots for Cadillac with Filipe Albuquerque setting the fourth fastest time in the No. 10 Wayne Taylor Racing Acura ARX-05.

A late lap put Nico Lapierre and PR1/Mathiasen Motorsports at the head of the LMP2 field in the No. 52 Oreca 07 Gibson, demoting Roberto Lacorte’s Cetilar Racing Dallara P217 Gibson to second in the closing minutes of the two-hour session.

Oliver Askew was quickest in LMP3 for Riley Motorsports, while Nick Tandy and Marcos Gomes set the pace in GT Le Mans and GT Daytona, respectively.

There were two red flags early in the session, the first coming when the No. 18 Era Motorsport Oreca of Dwight Merriman impacted the tire barrier 12 minutes into the running.

The car did not return and was only credited with completing three laps.

The second red came due to problems for the No. 6 Muehlner Motorsports Duqueine D08 Nissan of Kenton Koch, while the No. 16 Wright Motorsports Porsche 911 GT3 R also suffered damage and needed to be towed to the garage.

It’s unclear at time of posting if the two incidents were at all related.
