Entries from Smooge Racing and Random Vandals Racing are among several new teams that are set to compete in Pirelli GT4 America competition this year.

Texas-based Smooge, a newly formed team, will campaign a Toyota GR Supra GT4 for Kevin Conway and John Geesbreght.

The No. 68 entry is expected to compete in the Pro-Am class.

“Toyota Gazoo Racing and Toyota Racing Development continue to raise the bar in every series they compete. This made the GR Supra GT4 our first choice when selecting our manufacture,” said team owner Alex Geesbreght.

“We can’t wait to get to Sonoma and kick off the 2021 Championship. Our team partners have enabled us to build a solid foundation to learn and grow as a team in our first year.

“The SRO Pirelli GT4 America Championship is one of the most competitive series in North America and we are very thankful to have this opportunity to compete and learn in 2021 with John and Kevin.”

Random Vandals will also make its foray into GT4 America this year with former Rolex 24 at Daytona class winner Al Carter teaming up with team co-principal Paul Sparta in a BMW M4 GT4.

“Al and I have a season of endurance racing together driving the M4 GT4, so we are very familiar with the platform and each other’s capabilities behind the wheel,” said Sparta.

Carter added: “I’m thrilled to be back for another season with Random Vandals. Although new to SRO, this is not a new team.

“The infrastructure, drive, and talent has them ready to perform at this level.

“Having the chance to get back in the paddock on a full-time basis has me focused and pumped. This GT4 class is stacked with talent. Paul and I team really well together, so I am excited to build on the success we had last year in endurance racing.”

The GT4 America season kicks off at Sonoma Raceway on March 5-7.
