The No. 04 CrowdStrike-sponsored DXDT Racing Mercedes-AMG GT3 Evo has been withdrawn from the next two Fanatec GT World Challenge America powered by AWS events due to an injury sustained by George Kurtz in last month’s Road America event.

Kurtz and co-driver Colin Braun will not be present at this weekend’s event at Watkins Glen International as well as next month’s Sebring International Raceway round.

It came after Kurtz was evaluated and released from a local hospital following a weekend-ending accident in practice at Road America, where the CrowdStrike co-founder and CEO made heavy contact with the barriers at The Kink. The car was understood to have been destroyed in the accident.

While initially appearing on the 17-car entry list for Watkins Glen, DXDT Racing confirmed Tuesday that it is only bringing two Mercedes to New York for GTWC America competition.

Sportscar365 has yet to receive a statement from CrowdStrike regarding Kurtz’s withdrawal.

It will now result in an expected 16-car starting field for the fifth round of the GTWC America season, with practice getting underway on Friday.
